Music Conversion

Music Conversion offers instruction for students who have at least one year of instrumental music experience and would like to begin instruction on a second instrument. This class will be offered twice a year (first and second semesters) and upon completion of the class, the student will be incorporated into the Symphonic Band, Concert Band, or Wind Ensemble as determined by the director.
 
This class introduces fundamental woodwind, brass and percussion techniques as well as basic musicianship and music theory. Instruction is offered for the following instruments: oboe, bassoon, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone, french horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba. All other instruments will be offered at the discretion of the instructor. School instruments are provided on a limited basis.
Prerequisites:

  • At least one year of previous instrumental experience (or discretion of director)
  • Grade level: 6 - 8
